The Winnebago – Latest artwork by Jeff Quigley – finished 23/4/2026
This one was/is a family special. I owed my big brother and Sister In Law a painting. Ted and Sue requested a painting of their pride and joy, their Winnebago Leisure Seeker. Now done and dusted and awaiting postage south.
The painting is off a photo provided with artist licence for the surrounding background.
“The Winnebago” is a Framed piece, acrylic on canvas, sized at 50cm x 40cm.
‘Through My Eyes, Muskers Beach’ – Latest artwork by Jeff Quigley finished 16/4/26.
Nearly every morning for decades now I have been blessed with having the opportunity to start each day with an early morning walk just down the road to one of my favourite places on the planet, Muskers Beach Zilzie.
Always escorted by security, namely my wolfpack (the dogs) ‘we’ have a spot where we stop and just comprehend what is around us and how lucky we are to be here. Of course continual throwing of the ball is compulsory. The current wolf pack is found at the centre bottom of the painting.
I made a pact to myself quiet some time ago that one day I would have a crack at painting what I was seeing before me …. “through my eyes”. Well this is it. There are a lot of things within the painting, some locals, beach friends, birds, turtle, boats departing the creek, and interesting scenic points.
‘Through My Eyes, Muskers Beach’ is a large framed painting, acrylic on canvas, 155cm x 55cm.
‘Panic Stations’ – Latest artwork by Jeff Quigley finished 1/3/26.
This is another painting along a bit of a theme I find myself enjoying. Great Whites getting amongst large schools of scarpering fish. This one is from an angle of the school making their escape from the fast approaching and hungry shark.
‘Panic Stations’ is a large piece, framed acrylic on canvas, 575mm x 880mm.
C17 The Excursion Train – Latest artwork by Jeff Quigley – For the life of me I could not obtain a good quality photo but I am happy with the finished painting and more importantly the client loved it.
This was / is a commission piece. It is from a supplied old photo of the C17 Heritage Steam Locomotive that plied our local railways many decades ago.
Well before my time in Emu Park there was a branch line from Rockhampton to the Coastal Town of Emu Park. I do remember taking my young children to watch the last steam train run from Yeppoon to Rockhampton and standing on Ellrot Overpass (halfway to Rockhampton) and watching the train pass. I am told that the C17 did the coast run many times.
The last train I saw was not the one in the painting, it was a black locomotive. The painting is of the C17 Heritage Locomotive. (You can google image the train)
“C17 The Excursion Train”, Framed, acrylic on canvas, sized at 50cm x 40cm.
BEAUTIFUL ICE CREAM – artwork by Jeff Quigley – This will be my fourth painting finished for the 2026 February Members Exhibition.
Beautiful Ice Cream is the title of this piece. I felt the urge to do a nice painting for Australia Day. I believe the day should be a happy day for all of us. There is too much shit going on in the world right now and unfortunately it looks like getting worse.
I do hope that we can all laugh more and just share the ice cream.
“Beautiful Ice Cream”, Framed, acrylic on canvas, a smallish painting sized at 30cm x 40cm.
CHEERS – Latest artwork by Jeff Quigley – This will be my third painting finished for the big late January Members Exhibition… Cheers is the title of this piece.
“Let’s have another drink boys, this one has grown old and bitter” (It’s been ten long years)
Now I think I might have got a half decent photo of this one ……… finally.
“Cheers”, Framed, acrylic on canvas, sized at 30cm x 40cm. Small painting yes, and not one of my regular big buggers.
Another painting finished for the next Emu Park Members Exhibition … Frenzy is the title of this piece.
I nearly got a decent picture shot of this one for a change. Frenzy, acrylic on canvas, framed and rather large at 79cm x 79cm.
I have always been enthralled at the sight of the sharks in the feeding frenzy with schools of surface fish. My 1.5 million surface fish in the painting (lol) are a bit bigger in size then those you might see in photographs. I did try smaller ones but it was too painful on my eyes so I pulled the artist licence card and made them bigger.
I also lost a friend recently who happen to be a life long mad Sharks supporter like ‘moi’ and, who was known as Frenzy. This is my small dedication to the ‘good’ bloke.
Another painting finished and again, well ahead of schedule … Night Drive CQ is the title of this piece.
Apologies for the hopeless quality of the photo. It is just a proper B for me to get a half decent shot. Night Drive CQ (CQ stands for Central Queensland), acrylic and Gloss Black on canvas, framed and rather large at 79cm x 79cm.
Decided to have a bit of experimenting with this one. I always paint with acrylics but I wanted to create a shine / reflection to the bonnet of the vehicle. I thought I would get the old black gloss spray paint can and give it a crack. I think it worked out okay.
I had a wonderful time with the light beams, high and low range, now that was fun. You can’t see it in the photo but there is actually car tail lights off in the distance. Of course the customary bullet holes appear in the ‘roo’ sign.
‘Shifts End – How Green Was My Valley’ is a large piece, framed acrylic on canvas, 575mm x 880mm.
I did an upgrade to Shifts End February 2026.
I painted this piece back in November 2025 and being a city boy from Syd-a-ney a lot of the original content was from my imagination (aka artist licence) and what I could gather from reference material (black and white images etc)
Now I have a good learned friend who happens to be a proud welshman and grew up in a mining village of Wales. He spent his working life in and around mines. Me being me (a non smoker) and the age we live in now had all the miners walking downhill from pit all healthy in their ways. None of them had filthy durries or pipes in their mouths.
My friend informed me that up to approximately 80 plus percent of the miners would reach for their smokes as soon as possible after their shift, particularly after having spent 8 to 10 hours ‘in pit’ and unable to partake.
I was very happy with the original completed painting but it niggled me that I had the miners all in what I believed to be Company working coats so I was going to repaint that facet. When I was told of the “smokers” I went all in. “I consented to the rank and file to light up and enjoy”
“Be Nice”, Framed, acrylic on canvas, sized at 30cm x 40cm.
Yes I did a small size painting!
I will be submitting ‘Be Nice’ into the next Members Exhibition at the Emu Park Art Gallery. The exhibition will be open to the public from Wednesday 3rd of December and runs through until the end of January.
