I stepped into an avalanche, it covered up my soul – ‘Avalanche’ latest art work by -Jeff Quigley.
Another one finished in my Leonard Cohen Series and painting No.9 out of 10 (maybe 12) for the next August Exhibition at the Emu Park Art Gallery. I say that I have finished but I have no doubt I will be doing touch ups for the next fortnight.
‘Avalanche’ is a large piece, framed acrylic on canvas, 800mm x 800mm. Will be entering this one in the August Exhibition which I have the honour of being the featured artist.
This is now the sixth piece I have created for my ongoing series of Leonard Cohen inspired works.

The Project marches on – this coming August I have been given the honour of being the Featured Artist for the (August 2026) Members Exhibition at the Emu Park Art Gallery, this piece will be my ninth work for the display.
Avalanche is one of my favourite Cohen numbers. I am lead to believe the song is about ‘depression’ but who knows when it comes to Cohen songs. If you are interested I have posted the lyrics below. You can listen to ‘Avalanche’ below
You can view the current Fantastic Exhibition at the EP Gallery. It opened Wed 3rd June 2026. The opening hours for the Gallery are Wednesday through to Sunday 10am to 4pm. This one finishes late July. FYI There is a great Gift Shop there too, stocked with great works from local artists.
