‘I told you when I came I was a Stranger’ is a framed piece, acrylic on canvas, 68cm x 48cm. I hope to have it displayed in the upcoming Members Exhibition at the Emu Park Art Gallery which will open on December the 4th.
Inspired I tell you, I’ve been inspired. I have always loved the music of Leonard Cohen. Years spent sitting around the record player listening to Cohen on vinyl LPs rotating at 33rpm.
I’ve just finished watching the Leonard Cohen Series ‘So Long Maryanne’ on SBS and it was during the process of watching this that the light bulb went on.
I decided that I am going to attempt to do a series of Cohen art pieces using some of his brilliant song lyrics as my inspiration. No time limit for completion or how many involved. It will be a work in progress I hope.
Well this is my first completed one titled ‘I told you when I came I was a Stranger'(Cohen Series No1.) from The Stranger Song.

If you have not visited the Local Emu Park Gallery and Gift Shop then I highly recommend that you do so. Admission is FREE and the Gallery is open from Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm
The recently sold Cohen’s have now found a new home. They are adorning the walls of the St Lawrence Hotel. (Qld) Thanks heaps to mine host Kent for purchasing my works, ‘Bird on a wire’ and ‘I told you when I came I was a Stranger’.
