Artist Jeff Quigley - painting - the Highway is alive tonightPainting currently displayed at the Emu Park Art Gallery. (from Tues 11/7/2017)
New Painting – here is yet another one. Something a bit different – Called this one “The Highway is alive tonight”. Acrylic on canvas. Unframed 76cm x 60cm. Priced at $360.00

I finished ‘Highway’ today (Monday 10th July).

This painting is titled from a line in the Bruce Springsteen song “The Ghost of Tom Joad” which was dedicated to the character from the famous novel the Grapes of Wrath is an American realist novel written by John Steinbeck and published in 1939

Well the highway is alive tonight
Where it’s headed everybody knows
I’m sitting down here in the campfire light
Waiting on the ghost of Tom Joad

I fear that history is repeating itself and as for our future this is actually happening around us this very moment.
