HOW TO CHANGE PRICES FOR THE WEBSITE USING XL SPREADSHEETS WITH IMPORT DATA OPTION

THIS IS A PRACTICE I STRICTLYFOLLOW...

Harking back to the changes made in the spreadsheets.... page 2 to page 5.

I always work off the spreadsheets XL and ......... then SAVE AS a tab delimited (txt) .

If you don't follow this procedure then there is always the strong possibilty that you will upload old information if you dont keep both files in sync.

For example if I was to make changes to the Tab delimited version only and upload import that data up to the website.

REMEMBERING.... That we can only import the data into the website system as a Tab delimited (txt) form format.

It obviously has some different data from the original XL sheet (ie one product might have the price of AU/66.00 in the XL sheet and you might have changed the price of that item to AU/88.00 in the tab delimited sheet) and now both files are sitting there in your folder with different pricing.

And lets say in three months time I wanted to make more price changes. If I was to open the original XL sheet make the changes to another lot of products out of the same catalogue (My Funtasma Chistmas block of products for example) and I then SAVED AS a tab delimited doc to import the data then when I went through the procedure of uploading / importing the 'new' data changes then that latest version would overide the relevant data that is already up there....

That product that I had changed the price for only on the tab delimited doc some months earlier from $66 to $88 and not made the changes on the original XL (it still shows $66.00) then ........... when I now go to upload / import what I want to make now... there is a real good chance my old price off $66.00 for that old listing will go up along with the new changes I am making right now and drop that existing $88.00 dollar product back to $66.00.

It is a trick for old players so be warned.
